Here are images of the veggies from last night and this morning. Yesterday was dark and rainy so the grow lights were very handy!
These plants have been in the Tower Garden exactly one week.

Veggies and a Suntan

I received my grow light in record time! One of the bulbs was broken on arrival but it still works and my plants are getting their needs met on this stormy, rainy day!

And I got blinded and a suntan while cooking breakfast!

Happy Seedlings and an AHA! Moment

Seedlings are enjoying their new home in the tower.

Couldn't help but notice that plants just LOVE light! And like people, they can survive on SOME light but need OPTIMUM conditions to THRIVE.

This morning I realized I can rotate the tower to give all the plants a day in the morning sun. And yesterday I ordered a big 6 tube- T5 light fixture.
Here are my plants this morning:

Impatience and the day off.

Yes, I am impatient.
After reading on a blog and hearing on a YouTube video that some people sprouted seeds in the tower, I decided to just go for it today.

I assembled the tower - Here is a link to all the getting started videos:

All assembled. Then I made a few trips down to the fishroom and carried about 20 gallons of water up to fill the reservoir.

I added the nutrients and checked the ph.

A timer is included with the system so I programmed it for 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off for the whole day.

Turned the pump on and had to adjust it to the lowest flow.

Then started adding my seedlings. I labeled them too.
Besides the grow light (clipped to the window on the left), I aimed the ceiling lights (loaded with 75w daylight cfls) at the grow tower.
 One of the seedling pots.
So here we go... for now, until I get more info on real grow lights... and I love the sound of the falling water... kinda drowns out the skilter filter on the marine tank!

Adding a grow light

I decided to add a grow light to keep the sprouts happier in the indoor environment. AND, I want to experiment with the Tower Garden inside the house in an effort to grow bug-free veggies. Of course, this is R&D and not something to make food CHEAPER... haha...
